  • Dimensions: 50mm x 65mm (including 25mm bolt opening)
  • Weight: 1kg
  • For: homes, workplaces, industrial developments, acoustic fencing, and specialist audio environments.
  • Installation: Please see our installation tab below.
  • Where: for installing our MuteBoard™ 3 and MuteBoard™ 4 into masonry and block work.

Our Stand-off Bolts are beautifully engineered, and the reason for this is to maintain the stunning, sophisticated and sleek finish of our Note™ Range, which is a collection of sound absorption materials. These Stand-off Bolts help to offset directly fitted panels, and it is this offsetting that increases their acoustic performance by creating an air gap behind it. Depending on the size of the gap, there are ways to predict or approach a specific low frequency that requires addressing.

  • Heavy-duty, Satin stainless steel
  • Rubber bolt inserts for grip
  • Anchors and mounting screws not included

We are always looking for the best ways to describe to you the world of soundproofing through introducing guides that range from the basic principles of sound, how to best soundproof surfaces and what to look for, and how to understand acoustic test data, and this is only naming a few! We want to help you come to the right decision, so whether this is through the use of our guides or talking to a member of our team - we are here to help!

How to remedy reverberation

Reverberation concerns only the inherent sound quality of a room, and not sound transferring from room-to-room. Many properties of a room contribute to poor internal acoustics, with two major ones that are most common and undoubtedly relatable is the size of the room with how many reflective surfaces there are.

These reflective surfaces could be one of the following:

  • A varnished wooden floor
  • A tiled floor
  • Painted breeze block or brick walls
  • A substantial amount of windows
  • Wood panel ceilings
  • Metal sheeted ceilings

These are just a few examples, and some may have what is called a better 'NRC' (noise reduction coefficient) than others, basically how well does it absorb sound over a range of frequencies. Some above will perform better than others, and this is where more uncommon and less talked about sections of reverberation require a background in studying it.

But, it is the introduction of our Note™ range that helps to remedy the negative impact of excessive reverberation and helps therefore to improve the space, often with an incredible outcome. It is the introduction of soft materials that begin to treat these problematic soundscapes.

Stand-off bolts are singular, highly engineered and adjustable bolts that are used to keep a clean, sleek and sophisticated image to our sound absorption range which includes Harmony and Cadence.

We first used these on our project at The Man Behind The Curtain as a way of keeping in the chrome finish, when these were installed we took to their finish and sophisticated look over standard fixing or adhesives. It also allows the sound absorption panels to float from the wall or ceiling, increasing their acoustic performance against reverberation.

The fixing on the back of the bolt is simply fixed in to the wall and the adjustable bolt head is simply screwed on to fit to the depth of the sound absorption panel.
