  • Covers: 10-12 STS TG4 boards
  • Size: 600ml
  • For: homes, workplaces, industrial developments, and specialist audio environments.
  • Compliance: Compliant with both Part E Building Regulations (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland).*
  • Installation: For use with foil applicator gun.
  • Where: to be applied to tongue-and-groove joins of STS TG4 boards.

NoMorePly Slow Set PU Adhesive is used to bond the tongue and groove join of our STS TG4 boards to ensure an airtight seal and increased stability. This is a vital adhesive when creating a floating floor construction, one that uses little to no mechanical screws.

Advantages:

  • One Component- Easy and simple application with Foil Applicator Gun
  • Cured Film - Provides a very good behaviour to heat and good behaviour to hydrolysis.
  • Water Resistant - Excellent water resistance when used to bond wood to wood.
  • Great Thermal Mass - Suitable for use with a wide range of underfloor heating systems.
  • Coverage - Good coverage per tube reducing costs, covers 10-12 boards per tube.
  • High Strength - High strength bonds achieved.
  • Wide Temperature Resistance - Suitable for applications within -30ºC to 100ºC

We are always looking for the best ways to describe to you the world of soundproofing through introducing guides that range from the basic principles of sound, how to best soundproof surfaces and what to look for, and how to understand acoustic test data, and this is only naming a few! We want to help you come to the right decision, so whether this is through the use of our guides or talking to a member of our team - we are here to help!

How to soundproof floors

A combination of the following will always result in a much improved acoustic performance.

  • Mass: the addition of more substantial materials to reduce sound energy, for example, added layers combined with soundproof plasterboard.
  • Separation: breaking contact with the surface or surfaces through the use of acoustic isolation clips or stud framing.
  • Damping: the reduction of vibration through the use of flexible, damping materials such as Tecsound.

NoMorePly Slow Set PU Adhesive is for use with STS TG4 Boards, which is a cement particle board bonded together with chipboard to produce a solid and robust soundproofing platform. This adhesive will not improve acoustic performance, but will ensure the stability of the boards at their tongue-and-groove joints to create a successful floating floor And, it will also create an airtight seal. These properties attribute to both a strong performing separated system, with the reduction of air leakage, keeping in check the first two properties above.

Installation Guidance

Ensure all substrates to be bonded are dry, dust free and do not have any grease or contaminants present.

Wearing of gloves is recommended. Slow Set MegaStrength PU Adhesive is to be applied in beads on one of the substrates to be bonded by a gun or deposed with a toothed spatula. Distribute evenly over the entire surface and press to ensure a perfect contact between substrate and adhesive. Exert the maximum possible pressure without deforming the material in an irreversible way. One of the substrates to be bonded must be porous or contain moisture. If both substrates are non-porous, it is imperative to spray a light water mist on the adhesive (10 to 15 g on 100g adhesive) before pressing. The setting time depends on hygrometry and temperature.

It is therefore imperative:

- in case of working under 20°C: to ensure that pressing time is sufficient; - in case of working over 20°C: to ensure that open time and closed assembly time are not excessive. Otherwise, defective bonding could happen.

NOTE: These products foam slightly on application to fill small gaps. Any excess foam/adhesive must be removed with acetone before the product sets or with a sharp chisel once set.

We recommend the use of this adhesive as it rules out any compatibility issues, any alternative would likely want to be tested to ensure it’s safely bonded together. STS TG4 is a cementitious particle board, so a blend of chipboard and cement impregnated together for a dense finish.

Our guidance is 1 tube per 10-12 boards, applied to each tongue and groove section - this can vary between installers depending on how generous they are with applying adhesives.
