Typically you would take 50% of the ceiling area as a guide to how much Class A absorption you need evenly spread in a room to achieve a reverberation time (RT60) of 0.8 – 1.2 seconds (good speech intelligibility). These factors can be affected by many things like soft furnishings, the number of people in the room and room make-up.
