Decoupling a batten floor is important, especially when looking to reduce vibration and improve airborne reduction that is concerned with low-frequencies, use our Acoustic Batten Strip in all timber batten structures.
Our Acoustic Batten Strip is essential for any project that is laying timber battens on both concrete and timber subfloors. This material helps to decouple the structure to limit the amount of vibration that comes from the new floating floor, into the structure, which then causes structural-borne vibration.
Acoustic Batten Strip is a dense rubber matting fitted with a self-adhesive reverse, and it is this rubber that creates a level of suspension and compressibility to the overall floor, this means that it's highly effective against impact noise, ones that come from footsteps, or even from audio equipment creating low-frequency vibration. Acoustic Batten strip will not falter under weights found in typical applications in households and commercial properties, but with anything uncommon, then do let us know. We want to make sure that what you are selecting is correct, and will help you reach your soundproofing goals.
There may be a short lead time with this material. Please do call us to discuss quantities and potential lead times on 01937 588 226.
We are always looking for the best ways to describe to you the world of soundproofing through introducing guides that range from the basic principles of sound, how to best soundproof surfaces and what to look for, and how to understand acoustic test data, and this is only naming a few! We want to help you come to the right decision, so whether this is through the use of our guides or talking to a member of our team - we are here to help!
A combination of the following will always result in a much improved acoustic performance.
Acoustic Batten Strips offer flexibility and compressibility to what would be a rigid flooring construction. By merely placing battens on the floor, you are creating an air gap between the sub-floor and your new floating floor, which is very good. But, in concrete structures especially, there needs to be decoupling, and this is the separation mentioned above, breaking the contact between the bottom of the batten and the floor is vital. Adding this in will help to improve its performance against impact noise and structural-borne vibration.
Whatever your soundproofing project, come and speak to our team on 01937 588 226.
With it’s self-adhesive backing it is applied to each timber batten, you simply peel the paper covering off and stick it to the timber. Make sure it is as dust free as possible to ensure that the adhesive gets a firm grip.
Acoustic Batten Strip provides a dense, rubber resilient layer to the bottom that helps to reduce impact noise transferring in to the floor. It is to be used instead of using an entire roll in which a large percentage would be not be in use.
The Acoustic Batten Strip has a dense and very robust design, it would be unlikely that most general use weights would become an issue - but please do get in contact with our team with any concerns around weights - 01937 588 226.
