Soundproof Plasterboard

We supply soundproof plasterboard and other soundproof materials all over the UK. Many soundproofing systems use soundproof plasterboard or more advanced soundproof panels. These are acoustic plasterboard backed with high-density materials and foam for a more out-the-box solution.

Acoustic Plasterboards FAQ

The performance of acoustic plasterboard is situationally dependent. If it is effectively decoupled (MuteClip and channel) it’s very good. However, Mass Law tells us if you were to screw acoustic plasterboard directly into a brick wall it would have no noticeable as it would take a doubling of the brick wall’s mass to reduce the sound by 5dB. Decoupling is an essential component of effective soundproofing. If your application is an internal Studwall Soundproof plasterboard would make a noticeable and worthwhile difference. If space is a concern a MuteBoard option will be a good option for wall soundproofing.

Yes, not only that but it is a good upgrade that will create a noticeable difference against low levels of airborne noise when attached to your existing plasterboard. If you are suffering from high levels of airborne or impact noise a more advanced system will be required.

Most of the time, yes. If you have a noisy neighbour on the other side of a brick wall using acoustic plasterboard on that wall will have no noticeable difference. You would require a de-coupling system of some sort (MuteClip and channel). if you are working wiht a stud wall, clip and channel or ceiling using acoustic plasterboard is certainly worth it as a highly cost-effective mass upgrade.
