Carpet Gripper Strip (Self-Adhesive) is used under carpet gripper rods under gripper rods to raise them to the correct height. Each one comes with a Self-Adhesive backing that can be applied to most sub-floor materials for a quick and easy installation.
These are essential for use with our MuteMat range, this is because their heights are found above 10mm, and this will leave a dip around the perimeter of the room when you are installing the Gripper Rod directly to the floor. Their installation is purely aesthetical, and to level the flooring.

How to soundproof floors
A combination of the following will always result in a much improved acoustic performance.
- Mass: the addition of more substantial materials to reduce sound energy, for example, added layers combined with soundproof plasterboard.
- Separation: breaking contact with the surface or surfaces through the use of acoustic isolation clips or stud framing.
- Damping: the reduction of vibration through the use of flexible, damping materials such as Tecsound.
Carpet Gripper Strips are a part of our MuteMat™ range, and although they do not offer a soundproofing purpose, their role in the system is still important. When you are installing a Woven Carpet there will need to be Gripper Rods fitted to hold it in place. The Carpet Gripper Strip acts as a riser, to lift the grippers to the appropriate height. It does offer a small buffer from the grippers as they are only to be tacked into the Gripper Strip itself, not into the flooring, but its acoustic performance is negligible.

- Make sure to peel the paper covering off to expose the self-adhesive face, be careful not to pull off this self-adhesive in the process.
- Carpet Gripper Strip must be installed on to a clean surface, one that is debris and oil free, so that it remains in place.
- Gripper Rods to be tack-nailed into the Carpet Stripper Strip to hold it in place.
