  • Performance: rated at 60dB for airborne, and at 35dB for impact transmission*.
  • Thickness: this will alter depending on how you are installing it.
  • For: homes, workplaces and industrial environments.
  • Compliance: Compliant with both Part E Building Regulations (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) and Building Standards Technical Handbook 2017 for Scotland for airborne and impact transmission.
  • Installation: Only one fixing per MuteClip® required, find additional installation information below.
  • Where: wall and ceiling installation to separate building elements such as stud frames from the wall. It is also ideal for wire suspended ceilings, making it compatible with Metal Frame (MF) ceilings.

A significant improvement over standard resilient bars in both performance and fitting you can view our blog in resilient channels here.

MuteClip® MP (Multi-Profile) (Patent Pending) our acoustic sound isolation clip is unique in its design with its dual-density rubber polymers that are carefully designed and assembled to improve noise reduction over a broad range of frequencies while remaining stable and consistent with every MuteClip® MP. The right angle profile allows you to install MuteClip® MP in a variety of ways to help isolate a range of building elements while maintaining the same performance as the standard MuteClip®. With these properties working in tandem, you will achieve excellent soundproofing against impact and airborne noise in a whole host of applications, all completed with swiftness and efficiency at an affordable price.

  • Dual-density rubber isolator.
  • Dramatically reduces airborne and impact noise as a high performing, slimline acoustic system.
  • Can be used on metal, wooden, brick and concrete structures.
  • Compatible with wire-suspended MF (metal frame) ceilings.
  • Reduced points of contact to help de-couple partitions and ceiling systems.
  • Significantly improves sounds control in both high and low frequencies.
  • A significant improvement over standard resilient bars in both performance and fitting (you can view our blog in resilient channels by clicking here).
  • Compliant with both Part E Building Regulations (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) and Building Standards Technical Handbook 2017 for Scotland for impact transmission.

We are always looking for the best ways to describe to you the world of soundproofing through introducing guides that range from the basic principles of sound, how to best soundproof surfaces and what to look for, and how to understand acoustic test data, to name a few! We want to help you come to the right decision, so whether this is through the use of our guides or talking to a member of our team, we are here to help!

How to soundproof walls and ceilings

A combination of the following will always result in the best acoustic performance possible.

  • Mass, the addition of more substantial materials to reduce sound energy, for example, added layers of acoustic barrier combined with soundproof plasterboard.
  • Separation, breaking contact with the surface or surfaces through the use of acoustic isolation clips or stud framing.
  • Damping, the reduction of vibration through the use of flexible, damping materials such as Tecsound.

MuteClip® MP is the decoupling component that provides separation decouples building elements from one another. The breaks in contact with the surrounding building elements reduce flanking by structural-borne vibration. It is necessary to decouple from the structure so that the vibrations have a greater variety of materials for the soundwaves to travel through. As an example of where to use MuteClip® MP, corner portions of stud frames are usually in total connection with one another and can lead to vibration transferring into the adjacent areas, you will want to bridge these with the MP clip instead of fitting them to one another.
