MuteMat™ OSF 750-05 is our thin, high performing floor acoustic underlay suitable for concrete structures to attenuate impact noise.
MuteMat™ OSF 750-05 is our highly effective and slimline resilient layer available for managing the reduction of impact noise in overscreed concrete constructions. It's recycled rubber-mix content is refined from over 12 tires for each roll, helping to reduce the impact on the planets ever growing carbon footprint. It's density which results in minimal compression is a key component to providing a robust flooring even when it is subjected to high loads, giving you a long lasting and effective solution that can receive a wide range of floor finishes, with no requirement for an overlay, this includes delicate flooring finishes such as ceramic tiling. If you are seeking soundproofing materials for Timber constructions or looking to achieve even greater impact reduction, we would recommend our MuteMat™ 2 or MuteMat™ 3 for reduction of both airborne and impact noises.
MuteMat™ OSF 750-05 is part of iKoustic's MuteRange core - these are products that been subjected to stringent testing in both laboratory and real world environments providing the best possible solution for the purpose with a result you can trust.

When considering Floor Soundproofing in concrete constructions a dense acoustic underlay such as our MuteMat™ OSF range will provide great impact reduction with a very slim-line profile - this will help to reduce costs whilst requirements for Part E Building Regulations are secured for impact transmission. Airborne transmission, in most cases, is reduced by the mass of the concrete slab - thus most projects will only seek a resilient layer, if you are looking for further improvements it would be best practice to couple with our MuteClip™ System ceiling range to ensure an increased impact performance and airborne performance, we have a range of options depending on what your project is aiming to achieve, as well as considerations regarding space lost.
For Gyms, we would recommend browsing our DuraSound range for something more suited.
If you are uncertain on the current acoustic performance we would recommend our Acoustic Testing service to give us a clear view of what the structure currently performs at and what materials you would likely require in order to meet regulations or guidelines, and in some cases this could even reduce costs in specifying an alternative material that is more suited for your requirements.

This product is part of the following systems:
Sound proofing timber sub-floors (joist constructions with ply, MDF or other wooden sub flooring against impact noise often requires a compressible sound insulation material, MuteMat™ OSF 750-03 would not be best suited for soundproofing against impact noises such as footsteps, moving of furniture or isolation of household hoods in timber constructions because of its density - it’s properties make it perfect for use in concrete structures. Take a look at our MuteMat™ 2 or MuteMat™ 3 for floor soundproofing in timber structures.
When a residential or commercial property, existing or new build is subject to Part E Building Regulations or Scottish Building Regulations - the soundproofing materials on the floor will often require bonding - you will want to confirm this with Building Control and your acoustic testing engineer.
When laminate, engineered wood or tiling is being considered as a final floor finish, it is often difficult to find a floor sound proofing option that does not involve using additional over boarding such as ply of MDF to support them, which can increase final costs and require further work. MuteMat OSF™ 750-05 can receive all these flooring options directly on top, you will need to use a Perimeter Edging Strip around the perimeter of each room to butt all floor layers against, as negating this can cause impact noise to transfer in to walls leading to Flanking Transmission.
Luxury Vinyl Tiling requires a robust floor soundproofing solution that keeps it from being damaged whilst still offering high sound insulation results against impact noise, this is what MuteMat™ OSF 750-05 provides, it doesn’t require any additional overboarding and most Luxury Vinyl Tiles can be bonded directly to the top with adhesive.
When it comes to areas that have high volumes of moisture and vapour, it is important to use soundproofing materials that cannot be compromised by moisture. Mute Mat™ OSF 750-05 is a great option as it is not affected by water, mould or fungi and still allows almost any floor finish to be applied on top, it is also ideal for large residential and commercial projects, as well as being high performing to satisfy Part E Building Regulations in concrete structures.
MuteMat™ OSF 750-05 is best cut with a fresh Stanley blade and a straight edge or metal ruler, always cut away from your body and behind the straight edge.
