Our most robust over screed underlay specialised for concrete structures but can also be used in timber when thin solutions are required.
MuteMat® OSF 750-10 is our highly effective and robust resilient layer available for managing the reduction of impact noise in concrete constructions. Its recycled rubber-mix content is refined from over 12 tires for each roll, helping to reduce the impact on the planets ever-growing carbon footprint. It's density, resulting in minimal compression is a key component to providing a robust flooring even when it is subjected to high loads, giving you a long lasting and effective solution that can receive a wide range of floor finishes, with no requirement for an overlay, this includes delicate flooring finishes such as ceramic tiling. If you are seeking soundproofing materials for timber constructions or looking to achieve even greater impact reduction, we would recommend our MuteMat® 2 or MuteMat® 3 for reduction of both airborne and impact noises.

We are always looking for the best ways to describe to you the world of soundproofing through introducing guides that range from the basic principles of sound, how to best soundproof surfaces and what to look for, and how to understand acoustic test data, and this is only naming a few! We want to help you come to the right decision, so whether this is through the use of our guides or talking to a member of our team - we are here to help!
A combination of the following will always result in a much improved acoustic performance.
MuteMat® OSF 750-10 is an over screed solution for the reduction of impact noise. It is its damping of 'footsteps' and others concerning structural-borne vibration that MuteMat® OSF provides. It provides consistent results on concrete, making it ideal for when great quantities need applying over vast areas. Because it has a set amount of compressibility, depending on its load, it will pass Part E Building Regulations for most general use concrete builds. Mass is most often found in the concrete itself and is not likely needed at floor level. For those looking to surpass requirements, we would suggest combining MuteMat® OSF 750-10 with our MuteClip® Systems for ceilings. You want to prevent Flanking Transmission whenever possible, both in timber and concrete builds, and one example here that installation teams often overlook is by installing all the flooring layers tightly against the adjacent walls without a buffer. This vibration then has a clear path for transfer into the wall, moving up or down, leading to inferior results, or even the failure of an acoustic test.
If you are troubled by an extensive range of noises, ones that are intrusive and disruptive, or if you are specifying for a project that wants to be 'future-proofed', you will need to source solutions that combine all of the properties above. Low-frequency content can be found not just with machinery or with amplified music but you will also find these in the human voice, television sets, with the increasing use of soundbars, and from the impact of closing doors. It is these sounds that require separation from the structure.
We recognise the subjective nature of sound and how we react to each one, and that is why we offer so many variances in our systems. We understand that it is not always possible to incorporate significant losses of space with say, the introduction of a stud frame, so we provide different variances to suit what performance you need, your budget and thickness.
Ready to see how MuteMat® OSF 750-10 benefits your project? Select our 'Systems' tab and then on any system to learn more about each one. You will discover their acoustic performances, overall system thickness and in what scenarios they are best used. You can then add all featured components to the cart in a press of a button!

MuteMat® OSF 750-10 requires a Perimeter Edging Band around the perimeter of the room to allow floor layers to adjoin to, helping to reduce the effect of Flanking, which can often be the cause of failures regarding Part E Building Regulations. You will also want to use a Blue Cloth Tape to tape the joins together.

This product is part of the following systems:
The most effective soundproofing materials for timber floors offer a compressible foam structure to help absorb impact noise, dense materials can often still lead to large portions of sound transferring through still. MuteMat® OSF 750-10 can be used on timber floors where no other alternative can be sourced, but we would highly recommend using our MuteMat® 2 and
MuteMat® 3.
When a residential or commercial property of both existing or new build is subject to Part E Building Regulations or Scottish Building Regulations - the floor sound proofing materials will often require bonding, you will want to confirm this with Building Control and your acoustic testing engineer.
When laminate, engineered wood or tiling is being installed as a final floor finish, it is often difficult to find a floor sound proofing option that does not involve using additional over boarding such as ply of MDF to support it, this can increase final costs and require further work. MuteMat® OSF 750-10 can receive all these flooring options directly on top, you will need to use a Perimeter Edging Strip around the perimeter of each room to butt all floor layers against, negating this can lead to impact noise transferring into adjacent walls causing Flanking Transmission.
With Luxury Vinyl Tiling increasing in popularity due to its low maintenance that wooden floor finishes and carpets require and the visual element that has become outstanding in replicating luxury floor finishes - it is now being installed frequently and will often require a suitable sound proofing option. MuteMat® OSF 750-10 can receive a wide range of these luxury vinyl tiling on top with only the need of adhesive to keep it bonded to the flooring, because without any tack this could lead to tearing.
Areas with high volumes of moisture and vapour require sound proofing materials that cannot be compromised in any way by such elements. Mute Mat™ OSF 750-010 is a great option as it is not affected by water, mould or fungi and still allows almost any floor finish to be applied on top, it is also ideal for large residential and commercial projects, as well as being high performing to satisfy Part E Building Regulations in concrete structures.
MuteMat® OSF 750-10 is best cut with a fresh Stanley blade and a straight edge or metal ruler, always cut away from your body and behind the straight edge.
